Kerrie began dancing at the age of three in Ottawa Ontario, where she studied various forms of dance including ballet, jazz and tap. Pursuing her great passion for ballet, she continued her training at The School of Dance and Vanessa Plettell Dance, as well as at Canada’s National Ballet School in their Professional Program. Kerrie is a graduate of the York University Concurrent Education program, having achieved her Bachelor of Education in the intermediate/senior division (French and Dance) and Bachelor of Fine Arts (Spec. Hons.) Dance. Kerrie is also a graduate of Canada’s National Ballet School’s prestigious Teacher Training Program and is a registered teacher with both the Royal Academy of Dance and the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing. Kerrie has taught in dance studios across Ottawa and Greater Toronto Area and has also had the opportunity to share her passion for movement as a guest teacher in a variety of schools and as the head coordinator of the University of Ottawa’s dance camp program. During her career, Kerrie has performed at many local events, and has had the opportunity to perform with the National Ballet of Canada, Canada’s Royal Winnipeg Ballet and Russia’s Kirov Ballet. Kerrie brings creativity and enthusiasm to the classroom and is dedicated to bringing out the best in her students; with this, she hopes to inspire the next generation of dancers and it is her goal to help foster a passion for self-expression through the arts.
